Midget Mac is in the Building

I spotted this at Crunk and Disorderly and I swear it cracks me up each and every time. I'm anticipating season 2 of I Love New York, if for nothing else Midget Mac. He is pure, unadulterated entertainment at its finest. I have never seen a wannabe gangsta dwarf in my life, now I get to see one each week. This lil dude really thinks he is dieseled. But hey you know what he is a step up from Flavor Flav, so it's not a stretch for New York to pick him.

D. Ross to Be Honored

The original Dreamgirl herself Diana Ross will be honored at the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Fun stuff, I wanna go. But the Kennedy Center is real strict about who they let up in their on that night in particular. But maybe I can get my connects (i.e. my stepmother who works as an usher there) to fill me in on what happened before it comes on TV.

Also being honored are Steve Martin, Martin Scorcese, singer Brian Wilson, and pianist Leon Fleisher.

Finally a Mos Def post

I heard about this the other day. Mos Def mos definetly supports the Jena 6 cause and is asking for other black influential people to take a stronger stance on it.

His publicist issued this:

“asking African Americans of influence and concerned parties to join him in the fight against racial inequality and show solidarity for these young people, who are being treated very harshly by the law. The prosecution of these young men symbolizes a terrible miscarriage of justice, by punishing students opposing segregation in their schools and disregarding the threatening acts of others who advocate it.”

I heard he was on some show talking about how he doesn't want his kids to grow up as if they can't hurt a white boy's feelings without being severely punished. I respect his mind right about now.

Kanye sold 957,000 albums compared to 50 cent's 691,000 albums sold. Both of those are ridiculous numbers in this time of downloading.

I doubt 50 will make good on his threat to retire though. Anyways congrats to both of them.

*Sadness* According to a some Miami Sports Blog, Dwyane Wade and his wife Siovaughn are headed for divorce. I liked these two as a couple. They had been with each other through thick and thin before all the madness of Dwyane's superstardom. They were high school sweethearts who married in college. I had high hopes for these two. But the NBA lifestyle is not conducive to a marriage. Hopefully their children will be okay.

Last week O.J and some others broke into a hotel room to "retrieve" items O.J claims was his own.

"Simpson was to be booked on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm, police said. The district attorney, meanwhile, said he expected Simpson to ultimately be charged with seven felonies and one gross misdemeanor."

Sounds really serious...I wonder what his plan to get out of this one is. His book "If I did it" was just released last week as well

Even though the beef was about as real as B.Spears weave it was smart and it worked. We all know that if their albums came out on different days there would not have been such record breaking sales. Both did really well but 'Ye owned Smitty as much predicted.

"Early reports have Kanye West beating 50 in their much-hyped battle of album sales: West's "Graduation" is on pace to sell about 575,000 to 700,000 its first week out, while 50 Cent's "Curtis" is on track to do 550,000, according to Billboard magazine.

Beyonce Building a Housing Project

I respect Beyonce and Kelly's hustle right now. They are currently making plans to build a new housing development in Houston, Texas to assist people who are having have been affected by "natural and personal disasters." The housing complex will be called The Knowles-Rowland Temenos Apartments. They founded their organization the Survivor Foundation after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Their hearts really seem to be in a good place. I respect them a lot for this endeavor.

Turns out Foxy Brown ain't pregnant. Boo. I heard about her not being pregnant about a week ago but TMZ just confirmed the info today. I guess she was trying to reduce her jail sentence by lying. After Brittany's whackedout performance all the starts lied and said she did well considering...or she was okay and they liked the performance. Well thank goodness for Common and Akon who just spoke what they really thought of it.

Diddy's Baby Momma #3 Speaks Out

Diddy's third baby momma responds to Kim Porter's Essence interview. Rumors about Sarah Chapman have been around for over a year now. She is the alleged baby momma that Diddy knocked up back in ATL. Sandra Rose recently interviewed her and here are a few excerpts from their conversation.

Sarah's response to Kim's assertion that she didn't know her: "A lot of what you said is true about me and Kim. There's so much more to the story than that. She definitely knows who I am," said Sarah. "Yes, it's true, we've had words. [Kim] knew about my pregnancy prior to her getting pregnant. In fact, Kim and I met [Sean] at the same time."

Sarah stressed she wanted the opportunity to tell her side of the story in a national forum. "I don't have a voice," she said softly. "I don't have a forum to speak about my child. He has the forum. I'm not a superstar, he's the superstar. He's the person that should be out there acknowledging his child. I'm going on with my daily life and raising my child. We do what we do. Ghetto = Big Fat No

Kelly Rowland recently released her new video for her single "Ghetto" featuring Snoop. I think I'll pass on this song. Why she feels the need to re-release her album which peaked at #6 is beyond me. Nobody wanted it the first time and nobody is gonna want it a second time. I like Kelly as a person and everything but she is just not a solo artist.

I Love NY Season 2 Cast

Oh I'm so excited. I know this is trashy tv but I can't help but watch it. VH1's hit show I Love New York is coming back on soon, premiering on Oct. 8 @ 9pm. Here is a pic of the new cast. I was actually surprised that during the show 'Ye held himself together. He didn't win not one of his five nominations and I know he was contemplating burning down the place.

He supposedly lost it in an elevator behind scenes stating he would never go to another VMA show and how his single is number 1 yet Britt still gets to open the show (truuuu...)

I think he should be okay tho...he rocked the suites alll nitee and honestly that lookd more fun then anything. It was the only part of the show where I was like "damn I wish I was there."

All I'mma say is nobody got to be number one crying the whole way...be a man and shutup! Crybaby'n aint cute...anywayz you should be more concerened about tomorrow....

University of Maryland Hate Crime...

Sadly Last Friday, 09.07.07, a hate crime was committed at my school The University of Maryland College Park.

A noose was found hanging at the Nymburu Cultural Center. A center for all ethnicity's to host different functions. Black students relate the most to this building myself included.

I'm disgusted that acts such as these are still occurring around the nation. What shocks me even more was that it happened on my campus. I've always felt the most comfortable at Maryland but now I second every look I receive because I don't know who to trust or who is thinking what.

The campus police as well as the FBI are looking further into the matter. It could possibly be a Jena 6 copy or a stupid drunk dare from students who didn't think of the meaning of their actions.

MTV's VMA Performances

Can we say MTV stepped up their game at this year's VMA's award show??!
I liked the whole partied atmosphere and getting artists drunked up and still having to perform and act right!! I mean At first Brittany Blew me with her comeDOWN and then that Sarah Silverman chick wasn't not even Funny...what was her purpose again (aint she like 39 tho?!)...So I went in thinkn the hell with this show let me go back to my French homework.

Then this happened...


Chris Brown rocked the hell outt of his first VMA performance. He danced on Diddy's table. He.Danced.On.Diddy's.Table. Okay I know that later on so did everyone else...but he was the first and for some reason that was so amazing to me. I don't care how pressed I sound...get it C.breezy!!!

Alicia Keys did her thing...but I think she should've waited for the B.E.T awards to talk about FREEDOM. She still looked good and NO ONE is the song for the rest of the year.


I love performances like at this years shows...I don't go to concerts really so its the only way I can see these people live...well most of them. I wish I was there getting drunk with celebrities and going to the 32nd floor to catch up wit Diddy's followers.

Chris Brown posed for pictures. His performance was ridiculous but he made me a believer last year at the '06 BET awards. This performance was just icing on the cake for me.

UPDATE- I saw her shitty supposedly come back performance and she clearly didn't know "where she was" as celebrity pointed out. She look like she didn't try at all or really didn't care. I thought there was supposed to be a magic show with Criss Angel but...I guess not. If she wasn't ready I think she should've just stayed at home. She basically just embarassed the hell out of herself. Some will feel for her but I'm done feeling bad for her if she NOT going to do better. So whack! Thank goodness for Chris Brown performance and Alicia Keys...they truly saved the show...but more on that later...

Update # 2 -I just saw the replay of the performance. WTF. Everybody was just looking around confused. Poor Rihanna was in the front row. They caught 50 cent and Diddy looking real perplexed. Britney Spears could never sing, but at least she used to be on point with her dance moves. Now she just looks like another white girl who can't sing and dance. It's sad when you are past your prime at 25.

Foxy + Jail = 1 Year

Foxy Brown was sentenced to a year in jail today, September 7th.

According to the Associated Press, Brown appeared in court today (September 7) in shackles and begged Jackson for a chance to be freed, promising to straighten out her life.

"I'm willing to do whatever I need to do to change," Brown said. "I realize that's not where I want to be. It's humbled me in ways I never imagined."

The judge denied her request and sentenced her to remain in jail for another year.

Foxy ended up in jail for violating her probation.

Probation Department lawyer Matilda Leo revealed that the aforementioned indictment charges Brown with second and third degree assault, attempted second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the cell phone.

Leo also read out four violations the Probation Department filed against Brown which included leaving New York twice and changing her address from Brooklyn to Mahwah, New Jersey without notifying the court or the Probation Department.

Clinical psychologist Carol L. Friedland also tesfied that Brown stopped attending sessions with her and she was unable to contact the rapper to learn why.

So this means she is probably going to have her baby in jail.

Marriage Rumors Won't Cease

Random tidbit. According to MTV.com Jay-Z has said that he and Beyonce will get married, "One day soon — let's leave it at that." The rumors of these to have been going around for years now, so it's hard to get hyped when you hear this. I just wonder how soon it will be.

Nas Responds to Bill O'Reilly Comments

Nas recently responded to Bill O'Reilly's negative criticism in an MTV news interview.

He doesn't understand the younger generation. He deals with the past," Nas continued. "The people he represents are Republican, older, a generation that has nothing to do with the reality of what's happening now with my generation. ... He's not really on my radar. People like him are supposed to be taught and people like me are supposed to let n---as like him know. I don't take him serious. His sh-- is all about getting ratings or whatever. I wouldn't honor anything Bill O'Reilly has to say. It just shows you what bloodsuckers do: They abuse something like the Virginia Tech [tragedy] for show ratings. You can't talk to a person like that."

The New York MC also opined that O'Reilly should be exploring the inspiration for music's depictions of violence instead of making blanket statements about the content itself.

"Let him ask why I made the songs I made," Nas said. "It didn't come from nowhere. It came from this country. I'm not talking about Russia in my music. I've never been to Russia. I'm not talking about Africa, Switzerland, China. I'm talking about me being American and growing up in a crazy world and helping to reflect all different sides of life. I got songs also about totally different things — 'Black Girl Lost,' you feel what I'm saying?"

Speak on it Nas. Bill O'Reilly always just talks out of his butt crack about a culture he knows absolutely nothing about.
