It's Official, Kanye Wins

Kanye sold 957,000 albums compared to 50 cent's 691,000 albums sold. Both of those are ridiculous numbers in this time of downloading.

"It feels overwhelming," West told The Associated Press, as he walked to Def Jam's offices on Tuesday afternoon. "Everyone is coming up to me and telling me how proud they are of me."

I doubt 50 will make good on his threat to retire though. Anyways congrats to both of them.

Marketing schemes...

Even though the beef was about as real as B.Spears weave it was smart and it worked. We all know that if their albums came out on different days there would not have been such record breaking sales. Both did really well but 'Ye owned Smitty as much predicted.

"Early reports have Kanye West beating 50 in their much-hyped battle of album sales: West's "Graduation" is on pace to sell about 575,000 to 700,000 its first week out, while 50 Cent's "Curtis" is on track to do 550,000, according to Billboard magazine.

As of day one, Kanye had sold 437,000 copies to 50's 310,000, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Both albums came out Tuesday, and a confident 50 Cent famously announced that he would retire if West outsold him in first-week sales.
"

I didn't cop either one but I do plan on downloading both!!

This is not a good look

I'm sure they are just friends but these two are a little too close for comfort for me. There is no reason Paris Hilton should be bumpin' and grindin' with 50 cent. Yuck. I think I need to go scrub my eyeballs cuz this picture is grossing me out. UGGGH?!?!

50 Cent's Fashion Sense

In an interview with New York Magazine Connected 50 Cent talks a little about Hip Hop fashion at its current state. At one point in the interview he states,

"If you look at artists from down South, you might see some of them still wearing jerseys. They still didn't grasp the concept that throwbacks are done. I will tell you this though, "really fly" to Southern artists means really expensive."

50 is speaking some truth with this statement, because I have seen a few people wearing some jerseys and it was a dead give away that they were from out of town. **Lesson** Jerseys are in no way in style, unless you are actually going to or participating in a sporting event.

50 also gave kudos to album rival Kanye West by saying,

"Kanye was courageous, but it actually matched what he was doing. He was wearing sweaters over button ups and stuff like that; it was crazy. "

I have to agree with this too. Kanye West's style is extra innovative...Even if you don't love it you have to respect it.

Is this wrong?

Smitty Cent and Justin Timberlake made a video for the new single Ayo Technology

I actually...dare I say it....really like this video.
I don't care for Smitty as yall may or may not know but I always find myself jamming to his songs and same for Justin...boff come off as unnecessarily cocky but I guess for good reason.

ANywayz the video is hott and I can't believe how erotica they got with the car features being able to physically please the ladies...ahh good idea if I do say so myself. (No homo)

Gorilla unit

This Cry baby of a rapper is more crazed then I first thought he was.

When he heard word of mouth that his video for "Follow my lead" ft Robin Thicke was leaked on the internet he destroyed one of his gunit offices.

"50 Cent confirmed to MTV News that reports of him ripping a plasma TV from the wall of his G-Unit offices and hurling a cell phone through a window were absolutely true."

Not being one of his biggest fans I do find humor in his difficulties. I wish I was there to witness his big gorilla looking ass throwing stuff...

Maybe he should start doing yoga to deal with his anger

fifty needs to SHUTUP!

How'd I miss this one?!?

"I don't have a problem with him. I don't think he has a problem with me. It's 50. 50 does what 50 does. You gotta love him for it. There will be no 50 disses from Trina. I'm so positive. I don't get into the negative because it takes away from my swagger, and I'm not benefiting from that. I'm not getting a check from that"

Trina on Smitty cent comments about her cheating on lil wayne with Lloyd Banks.

Well I'll put it like this...If trina cheated...so what?!...its Lil Wayne...she might as well get her life too...and as far as I'm concerned all those diseases might as well spread to the gunit camp LMAO.

Basically I don't like 50 and I hope Kanye beats his ass on Sept 11th!

50 Cent Talkin' Shh-stuff

50 cent recently has been talking out the side of his mouth lately about Lil' Wayne and Kanye West.

Apparently, 50 cent gets a little perturbed when you ask him about Lil' Wayne. He doesn't think Lil' Wayne is on his level. Click here to see video of 50 dismissing Wayne as a rapper. First, speaking as a formerly obsessed fan of Wayne's from back in the day, I'm going to have to agree with MTV that Wayne is the hottest rapper in the game as of now. Second, Wayne has been out for seven plus years and is still relevant and he has youth on his side. 50 peaked when he came out and has been going down since.

50 also had the audacity to say that if Kanye sold more records than him he would stop making solo records. That sounds like a good reason for me to buy Kanye's album next month. This little drama has me good and ready for that Sept. release date, but I know that is just what 50 wants. He's probably the biggest publicity slut in hip hop.

Who's gonna be #1

50 cent and Kanye West are both set to release their third solo albums on Sept. 11. Who will end up on top of the Billboard charts.

50 has been quoted as saying,

"It's coming September 11th. I'm not moving nowhere. September 11th is the day, and I'm not pushing it back under any circumstances... I hope that they see and understand what's getting ready to happen. I'm not movin... If Kanye come that day he come that day. I mean, that will be great if he actually stays on that day. I think these people are smart. I think he's smart, too. And I think they'll move. But I'm coming September 11th. Jay's not gonna let that happen anyway."

Those are big words for someone whose two singles aren't really racing up the charts.

When asked about whether they would push the album back because of 50 Kanye's camp said the following, "Not at all! Good music is good music."

I know who I think is going to come out on top, but tell me what yall think.

Mr. Make 'Em Say Uhhh

So, Master P is looking to clean up hip hop after the infamous Don Imus comment. Apparently, 50 cent had issue with Percy Miller's statement and he refuted P's actions by stating that Master P doesn't sell anymore. Well, is 50 cent still relevant? For real though, every artist has his or her season and 50s has passed. He was the hottest artist when he came out(...remember them "Wanksta" days), but so was Master P back in No Limit's heyday. Yeah he got a single out right now but whose listening to it like that? He built his career on tearing people down and starting feuds (i.e. Ja Rule falling off the face of the earth) So this little rift shouldn't surprise anyone. Both should men should justfocus on their other business ventures because the music game has changed. But nonetheless I respect what Master P is doing...it probably won't sell but it's still an admirable attempt at something positive.
