Well in order to continue our proudness I think Black people and all minorities for that matter need to take more of a stand in politcal issues...

With debates going on and elections getting more intense NOW is the time for us for to make sure our issues are getting addressed!

Teedra's Back!!!

Since Jay Z was noticeably absent at the BET awards, people wonder what's been going on with Hova. Well first off he's starting to compare Rihanna to Janet Jackson. Saying she's gonna have a 20 year career and blaze, blaze. I highly doubt that. Secondly, he speaks on the Larry Johnson being in the Fantasia video, saying that he disagreed with it because it was a "hood look". That's wrong, Jay. How you gonna dog out Fantasia like that. Lastly, he's getting sued by Michael Jackson and Kanye West because he hasn't paid them royalties for playing their music at the 40/40 club. J.A.M.

Alicia Keys kicked off tribute to Diana Ross. She looked gorgeous. She has certainly glammed up her look. Erykah Badu came out from the rock she been hiding under. I loved her hair.

Reggie Alert: Reggie seems to be bobbin his head to the music as Stevie Wonder plays. Good to know he has rhythm. I'm liking what I see.

Diana Ross's children. Her eldest son with the ponytail is kinda cute. Where did he come form. He needs to be in a movie or guest star in Girlfriends something. That boy needs to be seen.

A Mighty Heart

Yesterday A Mighty Heart premiered nationwide....U kno I was first in line...*I know my psychiatrist told me small doses and I shud be fine*

Well personally the movie was really good and Angie just mite have her next Oscar...I believe it but then again I would.

The first five minutes I was like "0o0o this is gonna be g0ood" and then the story set in...You honestly get lost in it and its really sad and opens your eyes. Marianne Pearl is a strong lady to go through pregnancy in a foreign country all the WHILE her husband is being held captive by terrorists.

In the end, I left the theater feeling so grateful for LIFE and absolutely in love with the Pakistan Police guy (Irfran Khan)

Angelina did well for me to not be obsessing over her during the film...She better get that Oscar!

So Disappointed

I'm so disappointed in MTV right now. Did anybody catch a glimpse of their new show "Dances from the Hood"?! I was so blown that they would come up with such nonsense. The show was like a blend of Soul Train and Rap City's Da Basement minus the black people (well maybe there were like two in the show not including the host). Allegedly, famed music producer Timberland was arrested in Germany on Sunday because he and some people in his entourage beat up some dude at a bar. The man who was supposedly attacked allegedly provoked Timberland by saying the n-word. Definite NO-NO. White people should always know that there is the potential to get their behinds whooped by saying the n-word in the presence of black people. It is not acceptable in life {N.A.I.L.} Not justifying what Timberland allegedly did but it is understandable, at least from my point of view. Source

Oprah and George Cloony were a few of the celebrities that participated in Vanity Fairs cover spread for Africa awareness. U2's Bono hand selected the list that included Brad Pitt, Jay-Z, Djimon Hounsou, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Don Cheadle and Barack Obama to name a few.

I think its a great idea and will definitely promote the triails that still happen in Africa on a daily basis. Its one of the world's richest nations in culture and beauty but so much needs to be done.

From now on I'm going to post more domestic and international issues, not necessarily politics because I want for readers to have information first and then act on it second.

Angelina's film A Mighty Heart comes out June 22 and is already winning awards!! Her accent is great and i luv luv luv her...ok in OTHER Angie news she was recently nominated to join the Council on Foreign Relations. She can't be stopped and I admire her strong work ethics.

I haven't commented so far on the whole Paris Hlton jail fiasco, but I just think the Judge in that case who sent her back to jail should get a round of applause. At least they are trying to restore some sense of justice into the already botched legal system. This case is proof that in this country that racial and socioeconomic disparities still exist. Source

Word is that Isaiah Washington will not return for the fourth season of the hit tv show Grey's Anatomy. The decision not to renew his contract stems from a "pattern of problematic behavior," i.e. the controversy last year in which Washington used a derogatory word to refer to his castmate. Cuba Gooding Jr. = Good Dude

Big ups to Cuba Gooding Jr. Memorial Day weekend Cuba assisted a gunshot victim outside a Hollywood restaurant and possibly saved his life. He stayed with the 20 year old until the ambulance arrived and tried to curb the bleeding that resulted from four gunshots. Usually, I would talk about how corny Cuba is and how I like his brother Omar better. But I have a lot of respect for Cuba after this incident. I wonder how many other Hollywood celebrities, or people in general, would do what he did? Source

So Wendell from the show The Parent 'Hood (yall may also know him as Big Worm from Friday but his real name is Faizon Love) is being sued for assault and battery. Supposedly, during a pickup basketball the rapper Game got into it with another person. He punched an individual and allegedly brandished a gun. This all happened back on February 24th of this but he was arrested at his home last month. He is being charged with three felonies. Bail has been posted at $50000. Why would he pull some foolish mess like this....shame. If convicted he could face up to five years in prison. No wonder he has been telling everyone he is retiring.
